The Center’s History

1990-1993

Hope Women’s Center was founded in 1990 as the Tri-County Pregnancy Center, serving the counties of Greenville, Anderson, and Pickens. We wanted to reach women in those counties who had no other place to turn for help with their unexpected pregnancies.

Tri-County Pregnancy Center’s first location was on Hwy. 123. The center had one office that functioned as a counseling room, a main counseling room, and one bathroom.

Those little rooms were always busy, meeting the needs of women who saw the sign and heard that there were people who cared for them there.

As the center grew, we began meeting the needs of women mostly coming from the Pickens County area. To accommodate more women, the center moved farther down Highway 123 to Cross Creek Plaza.

We built a facility next door to the Christian Supply Bookstore, where we stayed for two years. The center was in a fantastic location.

1993-1997

In 1993, the previous parsonage for Arial Baptist Church was put up for sale. Tri-County Pregnancy Center finally found a new home.

It was more than sufficient to meet the needs of the ministry and the community.

1997-Today

In 1997, the Board of Directors and staff of Tri-County Pregnancy Center, guided by the Holy Spirit, decided that Hope Women’s Center would more effectively convey the ministry’s desire to the community and the women in need.

Since its inception in 1990, the pregnancy center has ministered to thousands of women and celebrated the births of numerous babies.

Hope Women’s Center has won many souls into the kingdom of Christ! All to the glory of God.

Our Vision

Hope Women’s Center is an evangelical Christian outreach of the local Christian community that seeks to communicate God’s perspective concerning the sanctity of human life and Holy living, in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, in a manner that brings glory to Him.

Hope Women’s Center is a compassionate ministry offering families hope and help through the love of Christ.

Statement of Faith

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential, and that this salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and not as a result of good works.
5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and to perform good works.
6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
